Dental Hygiene for Dogs

When did you last have a good look in your dog’s mouth?

Just like we benefit from teeth cleaning dogs also benefit greatly from clean teeth. Did you know that 80% of all dogs have some form of teeth or gum by the time they are 3 years old?

Dental disease is linked to systemic conditions including heart and kidney disease and also causes pain, drooling and bad breath. By brushing your dog’s teeth regularly bacteria levels in the mouth are kept low and your dog stays happy, healthy and smelling fresh.

At Top Tails we use the Cleany Teeth Ultrasound system.

Ultrasound cleaning is a state-of-the-art oral hygiene technology.

The toothbrush works with ultrasound and a compatible cleaning gel.  Ultrasound waves produce a gentle vibration.  Every second, one million oscillations flow the bristles and foam (created by the Cleany Teeth Ultrasound Toothpaste Gel).

With this service, you can achieve the most effective dental hygiene for your dog; cleaning without movement, vibration, or noise makes it acceptable for almost all dogs.

No anaesthetic is required.

The ultrasound removes tartar and stains, freshens the breath, and kills bacteria with no harmful side effects.

The enamel is especially protected against abrasion caused by manual brushes and tooth pastes and SONIC/electric/rotating brushes.

The gums are protected from irritation.

What are the advantages of ultrasound teeth cleaning?

  • Fast and highly efficient, antibacterial deep cleaning
  • Tooth cleaning and tartar removal without the risk
  • New plaque and tartar formation are prevented
  • Cleans without movement, vibration or noise – a benefit for sensitive teeth and gums
  • Cleans where bristles cannot reach (e.g gum pockets, interdental spaces, deep fissures)
  • Improves blood circulation and lymph flow
  • Ultrasound promotes wound healing and regeneration
  • The antibacterial effect of ultrasound eliminates pathogenic bacteria on the teeth, gums and gum pockets (where periodontal germs multiply)
  • It enables the immune system to focus on other areas other than oral
  • It’s effective prevention because it is carried out at regular intervals.
